Prophetic Voice Title: The Tongue
Our tongue could give life or take life by the way we use our words. Some people don’t think before they talk, and say hurtful things to others. Especially when they are angry. Some accusing one another of something the other person did not say or do. Marriages are broken. Children are hurt by the words that come out of their parent’s mouth.
SAINTS: The tongue can be soothing also-by the kind words you say. Let’s live by the example that Jesus wants for us.
“My Dear Children I see you in the corner gossiping. Why? Does it make you feel better when you talk about others and makes you forget your own problems? Don’t you realize the tongue is like a two-edged sword? It can give life or take life. That is the same with the tongue. Don’t you realize how hurtful it is to the person you are talking about? Or you don’t care! If you don’t care about other people’s feelings than you cannot be a servant of mind. Wars have started because of the tongue. Claiming your in my territory and the other country says no that is my land and I am not leaving. There is war inside yourself. You can’t handle the situation you are going through so you bottle it up inside. When someone wants to help you, your tongue gets in the way and you say hurtful things. Many times, it is your love ones. What happen to Me? You say: “God doesn’t understand.” How do you know that? Did you confide in Me? Of cause not. You don’t want to trouble Me. That is an excuse to stay miserable and say hurtful things to people that get in your way. You feel that is how you leave out your frustration. That only causes division in the family, the workplace and with friends. Remember: I am the one that created you. I know what you are going to say and do before you do it. Confide in Me and see how your life will change. You will have an inner peace and you will be a person that people want around, says the Lord.”
James 3:6-10 “The tongue is a flame of fire. It is a whole world of wickedness, corrupting your entire body. It can set your whole life on fire, for it is set on fire by hell itself. People can tame all kinds of animals, birds, reptiles, and fish, but no one can tame the tongue. It is restless and evil, full of deadly poison. Sometimes it praises our Lord and Father, and sometimes it curses those who have been made in the image of God. And so, blessings and cursing come pouring out of the same mouth. Surely my brothers and sisters, this is not right!”
2 Timothy 1:7 “For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.”
Psalm 6:9-10 “My enemies cannot speak a truthful word. There deepest desire is to destroy others. Their talk is foul, like the stench from an open grave. Their tongues are filled with flattery. O God, declare them guilty. Let them be caught in their own traps. Drive them away because of their many sins, for they have rebelled against you.”
