Prophetic Voice Title: Let your Yes be Yes and your No be No
It is important to mean what you say. It is easy to break a vow. Especially if your young child looks at you with glassy eyes and promises not to do it again. The consequences just flew out the window. Today is no different with adults. It is important to be a person of your word. Otherwise, it will be easy to be taken advantage of if you don’t stand your ground.
SAINTS: It is important to be specific when you talk. Do not be timid by others. (2 Timothy 1:7) “For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.” Remember: You are a child of God.
“My Dear Children Why are you compromising yourself? If you feel you have to please others you will never be satisfied. Too many of you are trying to appease others and hurting yourself. If others see how it is easy to convince you to go the other way, what kind of example are you showing them? You are showing them it is easy to persuade you. How do you think many wars were started? By persuasion. Do you hear public leaders say “If you vote for me things will change”? Many times, the changes do not benefit the people but themselves, because they are trying to please others that are above them. They are not benefiting you or letting their yes be yes and their no be no. Many do that in their personal life, it causes descension in the family and many part their separate ways. What happen to the trust you once had in Me? If you are having trouble by sticking to your word, how are you going to handle situations that are happening now in your own cities? Are you going to follow the people that are destroying cities by riots and feel they have the right to steal from merchants? If you compromise yourself then you are just as guilty as they are. Remember: I am coming sooner then most think. Where will you be when I come says the Lord?”
Matthew 5:33-37 “You have also heard that our ancestors were told, ‘You must not break your vows; you must carry out the vows you make to the Lord.’ But I say, do not make any vows! Do not say, ‘By heaven!’ because heaven is God’s throne. And do not say, ‘By the earth!’ because the earth is His footstool. And do not say, ‘By Jerusalem!’ for Jerusalem is the city of the great King. Do not even say, ‘By my head!’ for you can’t turn one hair white or black. Just say a simple,’ Yes, I will; or ‘No, I won’t.’ Anything beyond this is from the evil one.”
Matthew 6:2-3 “When you give to someone in need, don’t do as the hypocrites do-blowing trumpets in the synagogues and streets to call attention to their acts of charity! I tell you the truth, they have received all the reward they will ever get. But when you give to someone in need, don’t let your left hand know what your right hand is doing.”
James 5:12 “But most of all my brothers and sisters, never take an oath, by heaven or earth or anything else. Just say a simple yes or no, so that you will not sin and be condemned.”
